Android Setup
Download and install the StoryClaw Android App, sign in, and configure device WiFi over Bluetooth.
Use an Android phone to download and install StoryClaw, sign in, connect to the device over Bluetooth, and configure WiFi.
Before you start
Confirm that the device is powered on with a steady white power light, phone Bluetooth is on, the phone is within 1 meter of the device, and you have the WiFi name, password, and a working email address.
1. Power on the device

Place the device where the WiFi signal is stable and keep the front accessible for operation.

Connect the power cable to the DCIN port on the rear of the device.

Press the front power button once. A steady white light means the device has started successfully.
Do not disconnect power during setup
If the button does not show a steady white light, check the power connection before trying again.
2. Download and install the Android App

Open the phone's built-in browser, visit https://storyclaw.com/download, and choose Android on the StoryClaw App download page.

When the browser asks for confirmation, tap Download now and check progress in download management.

Open the APK after it finishes downloading, choose Install, and tap Open when installation is complete.
If Android blocks installation
Follow the system prompt to allow the current browser to install apps from this source. Only install the APK downloaded from the StoryClaw App download page above.
3. Sign in to StoryClaw

Enter an email address that can receive messages, then tap Continue with Email.

Find the verification email, enter the code in the App, and tap Verify and Login to enter StoryClaw.
4. Find and connect the device

Turn on phone Bluetooth and keep StoryClaw open in the foreground. Open Add Device via Bluetooth or the Bluetooth setup page, then tap Scan Devices.

Allow nearby-device, Bluetooth, or location permission when Android requests it.

Select the StoryClaw device at your location and wait for the App to connect to its setup service.
5. Configure WiFi

Select the WiFi network the device should use. If it is not listed, enter the WiFi name manually.

Enter the correct WiFi password, including capitalization, numbers, and special characters. Confirm the information and tap the setup submission button. Keep the device powered on while it connects.
6. Confirm setup is complete
When Setup Complete appears, tap Done, return to the device list, and confirm the device is online. As long as the device stays powered on and connected, you can use it remotely through the StoryClaw App or the web console.

Troubleshooting
Device not found
Confirm the steady white power light, turn on Bluetooth, keep the phone within 1 meter, and allow nearby-device, Bluetooth, and location permissions.
Stuck on connecting to the setup service
Keep the phone near the device and leave the App in the foreground. Turn Bluetooth off and on, then scan again.
WiFi setup failed
Check the WiFi name and password, confirm signal strength at the device location, and submit the setup information again without cutting power.
Change WiFi later
If you are not signed in to the StoryClaw App, sign in first. If you are already signed in, start from step 3.
- Open the StoryClaw App, enter an email address that can receive messages, and tap Continue with email.
- Get the verification code from your email, return to the App, enter the code, and tap Verify and sign in.
- After signing in, open Devices and press and hold the device whose WiFi you want to change. When the action menu appears, tap Change Wi-Fi, then select the target WiFi and enter its password as prompted.
You do not need to reinstall the StoryClaw App or bind the account again.
