Common questions about StoryClaw ClawBot, plus device and network troubleshooting.
About ClawBot
What is StoryClaw ClawBot?
ClawBot is a personal AI host that lives in your home. Unlike ChatGPT's back-and-forth format, it runs an AI staff team 24/7 that proactively handles content creation, financial tracking, and market analysis — with all processing staying on your device, never going to the cloud.
Do I need to keep my PC on? Can it work while I sleep?
Not at all. ClawBot runs fully autonomously — once you give it a directive, it continues working on its own even if you shut down your PC or disconnect your phone. Phones and computers can't keep executing tasks after the screen goes off, but ClawBot is built exactly for this: while you rest, it's scanning global markets for opportunities or automatically distributing your content. That's precisely what it was designed for.
Can multiple family members use it?
Yes. You can authorize family members to issue commands to the device together, while all core management permissions and data sovereignty remain firmly under your primary account. Family members get collaborative access — you remain the sole data controller of the device.
Does ClawBot require a subscription?
No. Buy the hardware once, and your AI team is on the job indefinitely. You pay only for the compute you actually use — no fixed monthly fees, no idle charges. Optional cloud credits are available if you need extra AI model access, but they're never required.
Is my data safe on ClawBot?
Yes. All AI computation runs locally — your trading strategies, documents, and personal data never leave the hardware. Private keys are locked in a physical encryption chip, audit logs are fully retained, and unplugging the device stops everything immediately. Your data sovereignty is absolute.
Device & Network
Cannot find the StoryClaw_XXXXXX hotspot?
- Wait 1 minute after power on, then refresh the WiFi list;
- Toggle your phone's WiFi off and on to force a refresh;
- The hotspot is 2.4GHz — ensure your phone supports 2.4GHz;
- If still not found, power cycle the device and wait 1–2 minutes.
Cannot open the setup page after connecting to the hotspot?
- Turn off mobile data, confirm WiFi is still connected to StoryClaw_XXXXXX, then retry;
- When the hotspot warning appears, tap "Keep Using Wi-Fi" or "Stay Connected";
- Type
http://10.42.0.1directly in the address bar — don't use a search engine.
"Connection timeout" shown but WiFi actually connected?
A "✅ Connected, continue binding →" button will appear — tap it to skip and proceed.
Page resets to the input form after tapping "Connect"?
Your phone automatically switches back to a connected WiFi — this is expected. Reconnect to StoryClaw_XXXXXX hotspot and refresh the page. If the page jumps to step 4, the device is already connected — proceed normally.
Moved or changed WiFi — how to reconfigure?
WiFi setup: Power on and wait 1 minute. If the saved WiFi isn't found, the device auto-broadcasts the hotspot (StoryClaw_XXXXXX). Connect and visit http://10.42.0.1 to enter the new WiFi password.
Wired connection (recommended): Plug a cable from the device to your router — it connects automatically on boot, no setup needed. Neither method requires re-binding your account.
